In 2013, I created becausebirds.com as a humorous Tumblr blog and then relaunched it as a full blog at the beginning of 2014. It was created to be a place for me to talk about birding, my bird technology projects, birdsong recording and whatever else inspires me.

Who am I?

My name is Jeff Mann. I'm an mid-30s birder living in Los Angeles, California. I go birding nearly every weekend and am always on the lookout to see or hear a new bird.

Up until 2013, I didn't devote much time to learning about birds. However, that summer I connected with the local Los Angeles Audubon chapter and began my birding adventure.
